CHCH QUAKE

At 12:51pm, on Tuesday, February 22nd, 2011, a magnitude 6.3 earthquake struck Christchurch, bringing the CBD to its knees.

At the time we had over 100 staff and customers in the C1 Espresso cafes, and by way of miracle, everyone made it out without harm.

High Street and the surrounding areas have suffered catastrophic damage, with loss of life and damage to buildings and infrastructure.

C1 will not allow 15 years of hard work and the recognition of being the best little cafe in the world to go to ruin. We will rebuild C1. It won't be the same. It will be better. It will be triumphant!
